María holds a BA in Pedagogy and a Masters Degree in Education. She has a Certification as an English Teacher by Cambridge University. She has been an English Language Teacher and a Teacher Trainer for over 25 years. She’s the ESL Coordinator at a private school (K-12) and a University professor. She has been very active in MEXTESOL for many years, is a founding member and former President of the Sonora Sur Chapter. She was also National Parlamentarian 2007-2008.

José Manuel Ortiz Velasco has been an English teacher for over 20 years in different educational levels:  vocational high-school, B. A. in ELT and post-graduate programs. He holds a B. A. in ELT, a M. A. in Education; besides a M. A. in Applied Linguistics plus the COTE from the British Council. He was a founder of the Oaxaca Chapter in 1999 becoming its first president (1999-2001). He has also held different positions in the MEXTESOL National Council: Parliamentarian (2001-2003); President of the Ethics Committee (2003-2005) and National Secretary (2005-2007).

Lilia Zulema Gaytán Martínez

Lilia Zulema Gaytán Martínez is a certified public accountant. She has a Masters degree in Education, plus a teaching certification by the University of Regina, Canadá. Currently she Works as a Language Coordinator at a University. She has served as a member of the committee of the Sonora Sur Chapter since 2003. She has held positions as a Secretary 2003-2005 and President 2007-2008. Currently she is the former president of this chapter.

Fernando Gómez  holds a MA in Higher Education and he is the leader of the ESP Academic Group since 2002.  He has been teaching in the BA in ELT in the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes for ten years. In the present time he also leads the Professional Practices Coordination which is on charge of supervising the ESP work done by the students at the university.

Virginia Ortiz Gomez holds a Master’s Degree in English as a Second Language from the University of Texas Pan American. She has been a university English teacher for 20 years and is now dedicated to teacher training. She re-opened the Tampico Chapter in 2007 and presided it til 2009.

Aurora Varona Archer. Licenciada en Pedagogía UV. Estudios de Maestría en la Enseñanza del Inglés UV y Maestría en Desarrollo Humano UV. Presidenta fundadora del capítulo Xalapa 2006-2008. Ha sido miembro de Mextesol desde hace 13 años. Miembro del cómite editoral del Mextesol Journal. Becaria American Ambassy-MEXTESOL TESOL  2006.

Maria Isabel es egresada del Centro de Estuidos Superiores de Diseño de Monterrey en la Licenciatura de Mercadotecnia y Diseño de Modas. Es maestra certificada por la International Administration of Academic Programs, A.C. nivel EC-UNIV. Ha trabajado como maestra de inglés desde 1995 en instituciones publicas y privadas de primaria, secundaria, medio superior y superior en niveles basico hasta avanzado. Actualmente labora en el Colegio Tamaulipas, A.C. como maestra titular de nivel secundaria y en el CBTIS #7 en el área de orientación e instructora de TOEFL.

Pia White holds an MA in TESOL from the University of London.  She works in the BA in ELT at the University of Aguascalientes, and is the Regional Team Leader for University of Cambridge exams.  She was National President of MEXTESOL during 2007-2008, and currently is the President of the Organizing Committee of the 37th International Convention.
