History
MEXTESOL was founded in l973 by a group of English teachers interested in promoting and strengthening English language teaching in Mexico. MEXTESOL was founded based on the model of TESOL International and soon became an affiliate member of that organization. The first National Convention was held in l974 in Tampico, Tamaulipas.
