I’m glad you decided to check this page out! I have the honor of being responsible this year for organizing the most important event in MEXTESOL’s Calendar of Events: the Annual Convention!

This year the convention will be particularly exciting for MEXTESOL. We will be celebrating both MEXTESOL’s 37th International Convention and the 10th Central American and Caribbean Conference in Cancun, Mexico from November 4th – 7th, 2010.

And your presence and active participation will make the event even more successful!

Our theme for this year is related to what is taking place in Mexico during 2010.  We are celebrating 200 years of the beginning of the Mexican Independence and 100 years of the beginning of the Mexican Revolution,   MEXTESOL is participating in this year’s events by choosing “Revolutionary Teaching, Independent Learning,” as the theme for our convention. By “Revolutionary Teaching”, we mean that there will be talks that will help to revolutionize our ELT classrooms from the teaching point of view. And by “Independent Learning”, there will be presentations which will encourage our learners to use different technologies, methods, and materials that can help them with learning English autonomously. 

By attending this Convention in Cancun you will have a great opportunity to get to know teachers from all over Mexico and, in fact, from all over the world, but mainly from our especially invited guests from Central America and the Caribbean.

The members of the organizing committee and the national and local governing boards of MEXTESOL  hope to see you and meet you personally in beautiful Cancun during the month of November.
